GPR Inspections

Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) offers a unique non-invasive and non-destructive means for the characterization of concrete subsurfaces. Jamko’s experienced field technicians have used GPR technology to inspect concrete floors, walls, decks, pillars and slabs. Locating rebar, piping, conduits, voids and measure concrete slab thickness.

Concrete Imaging using Ground Penetrating Radar

Ground Penetrating Radar utilizes an antenna (comprising a transmitter and receiver a small fixed distance apart) to fire electromagnetic waves into the concrete subsurface. The antenna is moved over the surface of the concrete to be inspected. The transmitter sends a diverging beam of energy pulses into the subsurface and the receiver collects the energy reflected from rebar, piping, and conduits. The reflected energy is recorded as a “pattern” and displayed on a monitor. The recorded pattern constitutes the raw Ground Penetrating Radar data to create an image map of the designated area.
